The False belief of 3 Wise Men

Tradition and assumption is the most powerful influence over 95% of the churches and its members. We believe because we are taught to believe. We do because others have done. The Bible and all of its translations make it even more difficult because most of them are influence by the same assumptions and traditions that govern churches today. As Christ followers we have a very hard challenge in removing the traditions that govern so many lives especially when most churches are ran and survive off of emotions and entertainment rather than the Word of God. Most people that read this will assume that their church is the only church that isn’t like this but more than likely their church is a part of this one way or another. One of many examples of tradition over scripture is the topic today,” The False belief of the 3 Wise Men”.  You have heard of the 3 wise men because you watch TV or movies. You have heard this from even plays or directly from your own Pastor. You have heard how God gave the 3 wise men a Star to ID where his son was born so that they may go and worship him. What if I told you everything about these beliefs are not true? Your first reaction is to disbelieve me or leave this page or stop reading this article because you already assume what I am about to say is wrong. Finally,  you just don’t want to hear it because it’s against all that you have been shown and assumed that was in scripture and basically you would rather continue with your beliefs. A small percentage will continue to read because like me they care more about Truth over Tradition.

Matthew Chapter 2 is where this begins. Inside this chapter the very first thing missing is the all important number 3  when referring to the number of Wise men. Nowhere in the whole bible does it give this number in the original text nor in the current text in any bible of worth. Why because 3 was pushed because of the belief of the trinity and its connection with the number 3. There is no purpose to give such a number. People felt that if they added this number this would more validate this as a God created moment when this is so far from the truth.

The next thing we must observe and correct is that the scripture never ever says God created this Star anomaly. This is the image all movies, plays and tv shows create and we as Christian follow and go along with the thoughts of beliefs shown to us on tv, media, and theaters. But for more clarification, stop for a moment and observe what the purpose the star served. Most will say it was there to show the “Wise Men” the Christ the Messiah had been born or to announce the savior’s arrival, right? Well tell me this…if God wanted the world to know the messiah had arrived why wasn’t Christ revealed to the world as the messiah until his baptism at age 33? Until Christ Baptism nobody knew who Christ was as the Messiah. They only knew him as the carpenter Son. Not even his own brothers and sisters knew he was the messiah. My friends Christ was not suppose to be known as the messiah until his baptism. So why did the so call wise men know Christ was the messiah you ask. They didn’t. The so called Wise men were not Wise men as some translation have down. When you research you own you will find that the original word used and removed is the “Magi”. The men we call Wise men were Zoroastrian Magi which is the root word that we get the word Magician from. Don’t believe me…look it up for yourself. This also means at this time would have been know in our time also as Astrologers as well. If you remember the scriptures about Divination and astrologers in Deut 17:2 and especially in Daniel 17:2, the useless purpose they have concerning God’s purpose and will. Bottom line God doesn’t use Astrologers and or magicians and they are rebuked and disallowed to be among God’s people. So now we start to form a clearer picture of what these men were which is completely what we have been shown. Basically they are Pagan men in search of a “KING” to be born. These men obviously knew about the Jewish traditions and knew that a king would be born but being pagan they had no earthly idea who Christ was as far as the Messiah, son of God. The only purpose of the visit of Christ was to gain favor of the foretold King of the Jews. This also brings a different light to what they gave him and how they treated him. Most try and paint the picture these men Worshipped Christ as God or even as the Son of God. They couldn’t have because they were not sent there by God nor understood that Yahweh would send his son born of a virgin. So with this knowledge, where did the Star come from then if not created by God? This Phenomenon was created and designed to locate the Messiah. The same Messiah God himself was not ready to have the world know. The answer is the god of this World and prince of the air, Satan. In Revelation chapter 12 it reveals that Satan targeted Christ as a baby to kill him. This was seen in the act of Herod actions alone in most peoples mind. However, his attempt started with the star he was guiding the Pagan magician and Astrologers with. That’s right it wasn’t God guiding the men, it was Satan who gave them the location so that they may informed Herod of such a child which was in turn suppose to lead Herod to the child for him to kill him. The men after finding Christ gave him gifts and obeisance as a king born. They didn’t know about his divinity so there is no way they worshiped him like most want you to believe because this would require active knowledge of Christ as the Son of God which they didn’t have. Then an angel warned them not to return to Herod so they returned home. The warning here most assume without looking into the context was a warning you would give your friend about danger on the roads going home. It wasn’t. It was the kind of warning you give your enemy if he was to go against your wishes. These same mean left as I said to return home never to have been heard from again. Why? If they truly knew who Christ was would not they have returned? They didn’t. More importantly why wouldn’t they stay? All these men were after was favor like any man at that time or any other time would seek from those who are to rule or have authority. So you see that the context of the information given to you paints a different picture than what your saw in plays or told by others. I always encourage all to read for themselves. Look up the true meaning of words and look up the context of the writing and times of the events. It is only then can you truly understand the bible and its messages. Or you can continue to allow traditions and media to influence what you believe. The choice is always yours.
